Book Game

Hi there, I am working again, but not transcribing. I decided to take a break from that and work on the website for one of the prof's here at SLIS

I discovered an interesting book game on
Mike the Librarian's blog.

I happen to have brought in a few bags of books to donate to our "reading shelf" here so I will use one of those to play the game. Here goes...

    1. Grab the nearest book
    2. Open the book to page 123
    3. Find the fifth sentence
    4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog, along with these instructions.

Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it. Just grab what is closest!

"I had other business. Fetch me some numbweed!"
"Numbweed?" The drudge's eyes widened further with concern.

The book that was nearest to hand was the The White Dragon by Anne McCaffrey, from the Dragonriders of Pern series of books. Great books, I recommend them for a true escape from this world.

So, I will get back to work now. If you do this little game let me know
as I would like to read what you come up with.

ciao ~

I completed your meme by way of turtlechild's blog. Thought I'd let you know in case you're curious abbout the results, though the book I happened upon didn't exactly lend itself to random quoting very well!

Hi adm, I think yours was fine, however I had this urge to keep looking in books until I found something satisfactory, but I resisted and kept to the book I had originally chosen.
